Many dead have crossed this road, resulting in the name of the route meaning "mountain of corpses". This road is in a terrible condition and is one of the most dangerous roads in India, which is not pliable for vehicles. Usually open from May to November, the road is subject to snowstorms and blizzards. If you are not lucky enough to encounter a traffic jam, it is sure to give you goosebumps. Though this road is very dangerous, people enjoy getting lost in the mesmerizing sights of snow-capped mountain peaks, rivers and glaciers.
