Revolutionary for its time, the MiG-15 was unparalleled in Korean service. It was the first strafe-wing transonic fighter to pack a big punch despite its size. With a top speed of 699 mph, the MiG-15 Fagot outsold every fighter the U.S. fielded. Only the later F-86F Sabre came close to matching its performance.
The aircraft was armed with two under-fuselage cannons, a 23mm and a 37mm, making it a deadly machine in the hands of a skilled engineer. This firepower made it particularly effective against the B-52.
