While Google's self-driving cars get all the attention, Oshkosh has created a vehicle to keep soldiers safe while traveling overseas. The standalone Terramax didn't get much attention when it was introduced. Even if it needs some refinement, it's clear that the vehicle should keep as many soldiers out of harm's way as possible.
QinetiQ Raider
Although it looks like nothing, the QinetiQ Raider is a highly versatile vehicle that can be remotely operated from a distance of 1000 meters. The Raider 1 is equipped with an evacuation release tool and additional technical support, in addition to identifying and defusing IEDs. Based on the Polaris MVRS700, the device ensures the safety of soldiers.
